Introduction to Piano Performance
Students will be introduced to the basics of playing the piano such as sitting properly, knowing how to use the instruments, memorizing keys, learning notation, and composing their own piano music. They will also be expected to develop piano technique and knowledge of piano repertoire through music theory and literacy portfolio projects. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore different genres of music such as pop, classical, rock, blues, etc in a culminating recital or performance. Students will also be given the opportunity to explore their compositional and improvisational skills.
